greetings traveller!

i do not have a catchy intro this time. therefore, let me start with some well-wishes. i hope you're doing good. that you're in health and that your ankle is getting better at least. i can't wait what adventures await during the travels in lithuania. i will soon find out, probably, maybe, hopefully. anyway, hello! opening-transmission completed.

vilnius
three people. why waste nutrients and throw them away, when one can eat the skin of a kiwi? only where previously in its life the pedicel was, that part i sometimes throw away. depends on my appetite, the specific kiwi in question, etc. prepared-ness, in a way. kiwi-evangelism continues.
the interesting cast of hostel-characters returns. toilet-clog-man probably lives in a place where plumbing doesn't account for toiletpaper (yes, it exists). and yes, the answer "cheap flights", to the question of "why" travel here, baffles me too. you can get cheap flights anywhere, really. fair enough though, i suppose. perhaps british-airline-induced wanderlust. who can say.
i get the idea you're into galleries. no judgement, just observation. i guess in a way, each gallery is different, so there's always something new to see. the images you took of the "memories of an old fireplace" are interesting. not the traditional artsy vibe i think about when talking about galleries. also, those 432 hertz videos are old news. it's all in the solfeggio frequencies now (528 is my favorite. shoutout to meditative mind for a 11 hour, 11 minute, 11 second long video). massive black-screen-healing-frequency-industry. one assumes at least some people are changing their dna structure permanently through these.
i too am interested in the pink-round-large drink. pink in a drink is unnatural. too much food colouring probably. probably an overload of sugar too. better to not know what it was. some mysteries should remain mysteries. forbidden liquid.
taking the regional train for not-so-long distances is great. more bumpy and loud (usually), but the sights don't go by as fast and gives you more time to rest. hope you saw something nice out there in the moments you were awake, that you would've missed on an inter-city or express train. there is something soulful about slower trains, maybe. more observation-per-minute.
the wireless earphones won't be missed, probably. if they were, they would've been confiscated by the lost-and-found person (which is probably the same person that rounded up but made you pay less than advertised). i know this message arrives later than the mentioned "earlier than 10 am tomorrow", but still wanted to chip in, for future decision-making. picture indeed looks like the old fireplace memories art. handwriting, or the style of the letters, is different though. different letters altogether now that i took another look. maybe inspired by? cosmic cross-pollination of some kind. schizophrenic visual-language continuum.

visaginas
(i probably won't have to mention it, but removing 2 consecutive letters from this town name makes it a funny word. probably not pronounced as i imagine it in my head, but still, funny)
good you found more hummus. preventing hummus-withdrawal. is that a thing? probably. even though i've never experienced a weighing-self-checkout counter before, i also hate them. the idea alone makes me dislike them even. the weird thing is, even though this system further prevents theft, there's still the need for manual checks. it's like stores have a commitment disorder. either trust the machine or trust the humans, no? current retail-society unable to commit fully to either.
the park you visited sounds nice. hope the touristy cross-monument didn't attract too much tourism attention, interrupting your quiet sit-on-the-bench moment. sounds like there is more nature here than previous parks you visited the past few days. anyway, "gorge" makes it sound big. picture of the statue determines it was cloudy, or at least not sunny, and thus not warm. sometimes makes for better views though. don't have to squint your eyes either. no sweat, no sunscreen. looks good. the statue too btw. good viewpoint angle. good statue-to-cloud-ratio.
nice background info on the interrail-discounted-regular train tickets. requires experimentation (or asking a random rail-worker, probably a conductor not on his rounds). platform waiting is always nice. "looking at monkeys", we call it (translated to dutch, usually, of course). same as with the park-watching; instead of looking at animals, you're looking at the other animals (humans, that is). good way to pass the time. people-watching-industry. one of humanity's oldest hobbies.
that video of the platform at visaginas (hehehe) looks funny. just a (rather small) platform in the middle of nowhere, it seems. didn't see behind you, but i can imagine it's a lot more urban-y there. good to see so much nature there though. we should all need more of this. the walk to your accommodation is a breath of fresh air (quite literally). sad to see a paved road through a forest, but at least it's for walking / biking, instead of car travel. good way to end the day, definitely. sounds almost idyllic, really. baltic forest-maxxing.

i can verify that opening such (master)locks that hold the room/appartment/house keys are easy enough to get open. i can't recall exactly, but i would say even without tools. not minutes. seconds. anyway, probably shouldn't do that. not worth looking suspicious in front of an airbnb-door for no reason. especially in the monday-morning hours.
it surprises me (perhaps more than it should) that you get looked at a lot. like they are seeing an alien, someone who does not belong. i don't know how else to describe how it feels. still, it's nice to read you have the needed human interaction with your fellow humans, even in the remote parts of lithuania. props to cigarette-lighter-man for not getting angry that a foreigner in a country in which he himself is also a foreigner does not understand him, speaking a foreign-foreign language. could've gone both ways really. peaceful platform interaction. humanity survives another day.
i would have commented on the train ride for having so much nature to look at (seeing as you back-tracked the same rail you went forward yesterday and mentioning it there), but it seems the back-tracking makes it so the train ride is less interesting and it's now more about going somewhere. either way, even if you didn't view the area around, i hope you had a good train ride. sometimes transit is just transit, i suppose. the in-between-space.
lake, 9/10. many shaded places, which i like. anti-sun infrastructure.

last sentence, too much travel today, agreed. sounds like the past day (or even 2 days) were a lot of moving around, not really enjoying the time. hope you can find the time to relax and enjoy the country and its people. maybe even rest the ankle. anyway, it's your adventure. i can't tell you what or what not to do. you do you, or however the saying goes. i do sincerely hope you're enjoying your time. lithuanian ankle arc continues.

until the next communique.

i will be honest. the ankle is a bit fucky still, but better. i feel in good health, good spirits. hard to think it has been close to a month now. the whole-skin kiwi is good. it is better. my gospel. i have never heard of solfeggio frequences, i will look into this, thanks. 432hz is og. on slow-trains, it is indeed a part of slow-travel. why not spend some time getting somewhere, you might learn something. i am getting more used to the self checkouts now, but they are still very annoying to use. seems like the only standard in this part of the continent. the forest at visaginas was very good. the paved road was funny in its own way, having benches placed at exact intervals, all identical, with two bike racks where somebody probably would never want to actually lock up a bike. nobody is ever angry about not speaking the language, it just requires a few extra steps before you can meaningfully communicate. maybe a bit annoyed or confused. thanks for the wishes.
